In this artical you'll learn how to setup a chess board and where all the pieces go.

Setup

To set up the board you must first place it in the middle of you and your opponent. One of the corner white squares must be on the right side of you. To set up the pieces you must choose what color you are. The two teams are placed opposite of each other. The King and the queen go in the middle. Then the bishops, knights, and rooks. The pawns go in front of every piece. There should be one king, one queen, two bishops, two knights, two rooks, and eight pawns. The queen must always start on her color.
